Ingredients

Fish

  • 4 fillets mahi mahi fillets about 4 to 6 ounces each
  • salt to taste
  • lemon pepper seasoning to taste

Lemon Garlic Sauce

  • 1 whole lemon thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice fresh
  • 5 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons butter salted, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons capers drained, optional
  • 2 tablespoons parsley fresh, chopped

Instructions

  • Pat the mahi mahi fillets dry using paper towels. Season both sides with salt and lemon pepper, then let them rest briefly.
  • Prepare all ingredients by slicing one lemon, juicing the other, mincing garlic, and chopping parsley.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the fillets in the pan and cook undisturbed for about 4 minutes until a golden crust forms.
  • Flip the fish carefully and cook for another 2 to 4 minutes until fully opaque and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add butter, lemon juice, and lemon slices. Heat until the butter melts and starts to bubble.
  • Add minced garlic and reduce heat to low. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Stir in parsley and capers if using. Let the sauce thicken slightly.
  • Spoon the sauce over the cooked mahi mahi and serve immediately.

Notes

Do not overcook the fish to keep it tender and juicy. For best results, cook until it flakes easily with a fork. Serve with rice, vegetables, or a light salad for a balanced meal.
