Ingredients
  

  • 6 medium potatoes peeled and sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Potatoes:

  • Peel and slice the potatoes into 1/4-inch thick slices. Set aside.

Make the Cheesy Sauce:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, melted butter, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well combined.

Layer the Potatoes:

  • In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, arrange a layer of sliced potatoes. Spread a portion of the cheesy sauce over the potatoes. Repeat the layers until all the potatoes and sauce are used.

Add the Cheese:

  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top layer of potatoes.

Bake:

  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
