Crisp Topping

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish and set aside.
  • Step 2: In a mixing bowl, toss chopped apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Spread into the baking dish.
  • Step 3: In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar, oats, flour, cinnamon, salt, and cold butter. Use a pastry cutter or forks to form crumbs.
  • Step 4: Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples. Gently press it down to form a uniform layer.
  • Step 5: Bake for 40-50 minutes until the topping is golden and the filling is bubbly. Cover loosely with foil if browning too fast.
  • Step 6: Let rest for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
